 Dr. James Cooke

Qualifications: PhD August 2010 (Macquarie University); Bachelor of Science – Honours I 2006  (Macquarie University)

Brown Lab: PhD student 2007-2010, Honours Student 2006

Research Interests: Using biophysical techniques such as Site Directed Spin Labeling-Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (SDSL-EPR) to investigate the structure and dynamics of the Troponin complex which regulates striated muscle contraction. The C terminus of the inhibitory subunit of Troponin (C-TnI) is of particular interest due to its proposed role in binding actin and subsequent implications in the disease hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).
